Easy (or not) 1,2,3 Decision

Well, we are going to have a pretty boring and repetitive thing from now on. With Romney gone, Republicans have only one real choice and McCain is the only possible candidate that can carry some weight in the general election. Huckaby, the long shot, however likable, does not have the connections and the needed support to give the party a viable choice. Democrats, with the clear lead of Obama will provide the best spectacle during the rest of the primaries and Clinton must do a really good number to outpace him from now on. If we are to believe that most of the electorate wants “change” so much touted by all candidates, Obama has the best chance to win, not only the Democratic primaries but the November election. Why? Clinton represents the old school side of the Democratic party, with too many ties to special interests and a not so clear record on where she stands on issues such as the war - forever present in the minds of voters- and also the fact that she is not Bill Clinton, an image frequently used to evoke the reasonably good times of when he was in the White House. Obama represents a new generation in politics, not only because of his skillful and well-presented points but also because of his age. When Obama is compared to either Clinton or McCain, he wins hands down with the younger and very motivated voters, many who are disgusted with the tired old politics and also medium to lower income people, hurting as much as they can take with our bad economy. Voter so far have proven that gender and race are not and issue, however, I’m not sure they’ll want either a woman or a senior citizen at the helm.

Vamos a tener una situation bastante aburrida y repetitiva de aqui en adelante. Con Romney fuera, los Republicanos tienen solamente una posibilidad real y McCain es el unico candidato que puede ofrecer algo substantial en la eleccion general. Huckaby, el distante contendiente, no tiene las conecciones y el soporte necessarios para darle a su partido una opcion plausible. Los Democratas, con el liderazgo visible de Obama ofreceran el mejor espectaculo durante el resto de las primarias y Clinton debe hacer algo muy bueno para ponerse al frente. Si hemos de creer que la mayoria del electorado quiere “cambios”, tan mencionados por todos los candidatos, Obama tiene la major chance de ganar en Noviembre. Porque? Clinton representa la vieja escuela del partido Democrata, con demasiados ataduras con los intereses specials y un record no muy claro en lo que se refiere a su postura referente a la Guerra - por siempre presente en las mentes de los votantes - y tambien el hecho de que ella no es Bill Clinton, una imagen usada con frecuencia para evocar la razonablemente buena epoca de cuando el estaba en la Casa Blanca. Obama representa una nueva generacion en politica, no solamente por sus diestras y bien presentadas opiniones pero tambien debido a su edad. Cuando se compara Clinton con Obama, este gana por lejos con los votantes jovenes, muchos que estan disgustados con la vieja politica y tambien con personas de ingresos medios o bajos, sufriendo tanto como toleran esta mala economia. Los votantes hasta ahora han demostrado que el sexo o la raza no son un problema, sin embargo, no estoy muy seguro que quisieran a una mujer o a un señor de edad avanzada al mando del pais.
